This is one of the Scrum certification programs offered by the Scrum Alliance. And this is an official Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) course.

The purpose of this course is to give each participant a general understanding of how and why Scrum works, and how to apply Scrum in practice. The discussions and interactive exercises serve as an important complement to the litterature.

Audience

ScrumMaster training designed for the members of an organization who will lead, support, or participate in Scrum-driven projects; this includes:

• Project leaders
• Development managers
• Team members
• Product managers

Objectives

At the successful completion of the workshop, you will be certified as a ScrumMaster and have an understanding of how the various roles and responsibilities can be applied in the real world to your current and future projects. You will receive a one year membership to the Scrum Alliance.

Agenda (balanced mix of lecturing, exercises, and discussions):

• Why Scrum? Connection to lean, queue theory, cycle time, complex adaptive systems, etc.
• Backlog and requirements management.
• Planning and estimating.
• Sprints and problem solving.
• Roles and responsibilities.
• Common pitfalls and practical tips.

Requirements for certification:

• Present 90% of the time (both mentally and physically…).
• Online exam to be taken after the course

The rates for the class:

Includes:

• two days class attendance for one person
• testing and certification
• meals

Does not include:

• main conference program (October/8-9)

If you’re a conference attendee

• your rate is $1200;

If you’re not a conference attendee:

• your rate is $1300;
• register for the conference and get the reduced rate for the class.
